Basil Oil

I just made basil oil for fun, can’t wait to use it!

I washed and patted dry (perhaps the most tedious part) about a cup’s worth of basil.

I blended the basil with 3/4 cup of olive oil until it was thinly shredded.

Heat the oil and basil mixture over medium heat for 4 minutes, then turn off heat and let cool for an hour.

Strain the cooled mixture and then voila, you have basil oil. I don’t know what to use my basil oil for though haha! I could make my own marinara, just drizzle it over flatbread, try to make a basil olive oil gelato….let me know in the comments if you want to see me cook anything with this!

Dipping bread or pizza in this basil oil is a great choice. But you can also scatter this oil and Maggi on to a hot bowl of rice. Its delicous…

Oh that looks amazing. I would just dip bread in it and eat it all up. Drizzled over pizza would be really good. Or bake it in bread! OR MAKE BASIL MAYO(“aioli”)!!
